SafeHaven for Tonttu

TonttuTölli is a place in its own time and space — in Pirkanmaa, in the township of Sastamala, near Tampere, Finland's cultural capital. A safehaven, a sanctuary for Tonttu and for every other kind of sensitive spirit wandering the galaxy and this beautiful planet.

These are hard times. A virus of fascism has contaminated the world; the earth is poisoned with plastic and oil; careless humans have used a beautiful planet as a rubbish bin.

Like volcanic eruption who saw it's own reflection over the darkening ocean surface

So there is a need for a place of peace, a place to reconnect with spirit and nature. This is where TonttuTölli — ElvenHold was born: a safe haven for all kinds of sensitive creatures.

What grows here

Two fresh-water springs, and many friendly spirits — so be aware of what you wish for, you may well receive it. A guest hut stands open through the summer season for visitors of TonttuSETI and the Tonttu Residency. The atmosphere is organic and natural, and there is still fast internet for working in the digital world.

Beyond the screens there is a garden — things grown to be eaten, dried, and shared, and the tending of them is its own kind of rest. When the day’s making is done, the sauna is lit: Heat from the - Fire, rising through wood and stones the - Earth, to löyly, the rising breath, spirit of steam - Water.

The rest of the space is for creating, at an unhurried pace — and it is all done with respect, for the land, for the seasons, and for the other tonttu who share the place.

The Tonttu Residency

The Tonttu Residency trades accommodation — and, when it can, food — for Tonttu-inspired art made for the place, or for other support of the Tonttu protection programme: the Tonttu Sanctuary.
